Ferro Announces Appointment of Mark Mazanec as Corporate Environmental Health & Safety Director

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ferro Corporation (NYSE: FOE) has announced that Mark R. Mazanec will join the Company on January 2, 2009, as Corporate Environmental Health & Safety Director.

Mr. Mazanec, 47, brings more than 22 years of legal, business and senior management experience to his position at Ferro. Most recently, he served as a partner in the Environmental Practice Group at Baker & Hostetler, a national law firm based in Cleveland. At Baker & Hostetler, he focused on EHS compliance counseling and auditing, brownfield redevelopment, business transactions and regulatory enforcement defense. Although he originally joined the firm in 1988, from 1994 until 2001, Mr. Mazanec held a broad range of management roles at GE Lighting, including Global EHS Counsel, Manager of EHS for GE Lighting Europe, Six Sigma Quality Leader and North American Supply Chain Manager. In 1983, he started his career at the former Standard Oil Company of Ohio as a process design engineer before going to law school.

Mr. Mazanec was awarded his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Michigan Law School and received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
